How to set-up public channels on DSTV

Many people have been asking me to set up their DSTV to view public channels or what is commonly known as Christian channels. South Africa is mostly dominated by Christian and many people love to view their pastors on the television that has been designated by the respective church domination. Today I look at the way you can make the setup yourself to view such channels on Tv.

Here are the settings:

Step 1:

  1. Press the MENU button
  2. Select “ADVANCED OPTIONS” and press OK.
  3. Select “DSD UPGRADE” and press OK. The decoder should start to upgrade the software now.
  4. If you are not sure about the version of your decoder software, you can contact Multichoice or your local DSTV technician/supplier and they will be able to help you.

Step 2:

  1. Press menu Select “Advanced Options”
  2. Select “Dish Installation”
  3. Enter the pin “9949”
  4. Select “Network Configuration”
  5. Select “Network 2 Setup”
    NB: Leave “Network 1 Setup (Home)” unchanged!!
    Set Signal Setup to “Enabled” by selecting it, and moving left or right
    Set Frequency to “11170”
    Set Symbol Rate to “26652”
    Set Polarization to “Vertical”
    Set FEC to “5/6”
    Select “Accept these settings”

Step 3:

  1. Select “Network 3 Setup”
  2. Set Signal Setup to “Enabled”
  3. Set Frequency to “11625”
  4. Set Symbol Rate to “15000”
  5. Set Polarization to “Vertical”
  6. Set FEC to “3/4”
  7. Select “Accept these settings”

Step 4:

  1. Select “Network 4 Setup”
  2. Set Signal Setup to “Enabled”
  3. Set Frequency to “11674”
  4. Set Symbol Rate to “26652”
  5. Set Polarization to “Vertical”
  6. Set FEC to “5/6”
  7. Select “Accept these settings”

Step 5:

  1. Select “Network 5 Setup”
  2. Set Signal Setup to “Enabled”
  3. Set Frequency to “12522”
  4. Set Symbol Rate to “26657”
  5. Set Polarization to “Horizontal”
  6. Set FEC to “1/2”
  7. Select “Accept these settings”

Step 6:

  1. Select “Network 6 Setup”
  2. Set Signal Setup to “Enabled”
  3. Set Frequency to “12562”
  4. Set Symbol Rate to “26657”
  5. Set Polarization to “Horizontal”
  6. Set FEC to “1/2”
  7. Select “Accept these settings”

Step 7:

  1. Select “Network 7 Setup”
  2. Set Signal Setup to “Enabled”
  3. Set Frequency to “12682”
  4. Set Symbol Rate to “26657”
  5. Set Polarization to “Horizontal”
  6. Set FEC to “1/2”
  7. Select “Accept these settings”

Step 8:

  1. Select “Network 8 Setup”
  2. Set Signal Setup to “Enabled”
  3. Set Frequency to “12722”
  4. Set Symbol Rate to “26657”
  5. Set Polarization to “Vertical”
  6. Set FEC to “1/2”
  7. Select”Accept these settings”

After completing these steps scan the channels and you will now be able to access the channels whenever you want.
