Introduction:
This year, Hungry Lion wants to SHARE even MORE by providing 20 unemployed youths with an occupational qualification and valuable work experience as one of our All-Stars for 12 months, with the possibility of permanent employment thereafter. The qualification has been developed for the fast food and restaurant industry and brings together elements of food and drink preparation, service, supervision, health & safety, storage and stock management and customer care. It also caters for a sub-field in hospitality.
Job description:
Qualification: National Certificate – Fast Food Services NQF L3
Employment: Fixed term – 12 months (01 October 2021 – 30 September 2022)
Responsibilities to serve our customers:
- Deliver amazing customer service to our customers.
- Handle transactions and place food orders.
- Take customers’ orders.
- Sell products specific to campaigns/promotions running.
- Count the float daily before your shift starts.
- Work the till.
- Count the float daily after your shift ends.
- Write the float amount in the book and drop the cash in the specified safe.
Responsibilities to cook and prepare meals:
- Switch on all equipment and ensure that it is in good working condition.
- Prepare and clean the chicken.
- Manage the breading of chicken.
- Help with the morning preparations for the food.
- Manually operate the cooking equipment according to specified procedures.
- Handle the cooked chicken.
- Prepare delicious meals for our customers.
Responsibilities around general duties:
- Switch on all equipment and ensure that it is in good working condition.
- As the stock is received, pack it according to Hungry Lion standards.
- Ensure that the fridges are always stocked with drinks.
- Clean the store according to Hungry Lion standards.
- Clean the cooler as per Hungry Lion standards.
- Clean all the equipment in the store daily.
- Daily filter the oil from the cooker.
- Take Hungry Lion waste to specified areas and clean the bins.
- Clean the staff toilets.
- Occasionally take all paperwork to the Host Branch.
- Assist with the effective display of promotional material.
- Hand out promotional pamphlets.
- Carry out instructions from management.
Minimum requirements
- Be currently unemployed
- Not be entered into any other Learnership Agreements
- Be aged between 18 – 29
- Live in Cape Town or surrounds
- Be willing and able to commit for 12 months
- Have a matric certificate
- Have the ability to communicate in English (Speak, Read and Write)
